Why choose A&J?

A brief company overview.
Our current Managing Director, Jeff Plumb, was one of the original engineers at the outset when DSR Customer Services was founded in 1986. The main line of business at that time was the servicing of electron microscopes and associated equipment.
Subsequently, the company expanded into providing service cover for scanning electron microscopes and mass spectrometers. We also service the majority of the ancillary equipment associated with this equipment. We employ experienced engineers who specialise in magnetic sector and quadrupole mass spectrometers and others who specialise in electron microscopes. We also provide service cover on a wide range of vacuum related equipment such as rotary, turbo, diffusion and ion pumps.

How we have expanded our Customer Base:
Not using the manufacturer of an instrument to provide the servicing is often considered as risking the unknown, but our reputation for quality has led to a continual expansion of our customer base over the years. The common misconception is that only the manufacturer would have the expertise to provide maintenance, this is certainly not the case as our many satisfied customers will testify.

Why is there a need for third party servicing?
Many companies and organisations today face the hard reality of budget constraints, even so, they still need to have their instruments serviced. With soaring manufacturer contract costs, some questions have to be asked, the most obvious being, is there an alternative? Why do we pay so much and what am I supposed to get?
With A&J you only pay for the parts you need and not for those that you might need.
A&J provides a quality service without compromise. How can we do this so well? Simple, because service is all we do. The only compromise with us is price.

What am I actually getting for my money?
We are a forward looking company, dedicated to our customers needs, providing normal routine maintenance, technical support and emergency call outs to our contract customers. Telephone support comes as standard from engineers who can provide technical backup and diagnose problems. Quite often problems can be resolved without the need for an engineer to visit. How is this possible? Simple, our customer's instruments are very reliable.
Loan rotary vacuum pumps can be supplied to minimise down time whilst repairs are undertaken at our factory by trained pump technicians. Furthermore, loan turbo-molecular pumps can be supplied whilst repairs are carried out by our service provider.
Ad-hoc support can be provided for instrument users who cannot afford a contract.

We offer a flexible contract system which allows us to meet a customer's exact service contract requirements. Whether you want breakdown cover for your instrument at a realistic price or whether you would just like quality maintenance cover, we are here to help. Furthermore, with our contract system, multiple users on the same site can combine emergency time from the individual contracts should the need arise.
Peripheral items such as gas chromatographs/autosamplers/LC systems will be subcontracted to either the original manufacturer or to a specialist 3rd party maintenance supplier. Most laboratories, especially Government facilities, require multiple contract tenders before contracts can be awarded. We would be more than willing to tender for any service contract in our field, as we believe that we can offer the best solution to contract maintenance in this area.

Response.
We offer a realistic response time based on a best effort 48 hours from the time the fault is logged with us. An engineer is always only a 'phone call away.'
